How does it work?

We focus our program on the motivation that is required to communicate by the students so they are able to use Spanish from the first day of classes. Courses are structured on an immersive perspective where sounds, images, touch and sensations play a fundamental role in learning. We use an active approach on the Communicative Methodology integrating natural learning, technology and obviously the Valley touch.

Our program is 100% made in Colombia, taken from information based on real interactions, and created by native professional teachers. More than 4,000 students confirm the success of our methodology.

Face to face lessons

As a part of our teaching system, face to face lessons have always been our preferred way of interaction. We love having our students in our school, and now that we are open can’t wait to have you all here.

Group lessons, closed group lessons, one to one lessons, and Survival Spanish lessons are available for you, now. Native teachers will guide you through your Spanish learning process and will be there to answer every question you might have about the language.

Whether you are spending a few weeks in Colombia or you plan on staying, Valley Spanish School has different options for your learning goals. One of the lessons that stands from the crowd, is Survival Spanish. Aimed to students who are in need of learning fast without focusing on grammar, who enjoy talking to locals from day one and who have a taste for learning outdoors.

With this lessons you will be able to interact with teachers and locals in different contexts. You will be learning at the coffee shop, at the restaurant, in the taxi, on the bus, etc.

  My experiences with valley school were all positive.

I was introduced by a friend who took 3 weeks of Spanish classes (4h per day). He took me to their weekly ‘language exchange’ (Tuesdays and Thursdays), which I also recommend.

I decided to sign up for 1 week of Spanish classes, 4 hours per day in a beginner group. The teacher Valery, besides doing her job well, is just cool and funny so that made the learning even easier.

When I had a concern about the different levels in my group I addressed it with Juan (whom I believe is the owner). His response made clear that he cares about the quality of the service he provides. I was very impressed by how he handled things! 10/10 recommend

  I have nothing but great things to say about Valley Spanish School! I stumbled upon this gem because I was taking dance lessons in the adjacent room (bonus!) and would grab a delicious coffee in the cafe before and/or after my class (shoutout to the amazing baristas, Tomas and Aleja, who always knew my order!).

After talking to Federico about the option to have private or group lessons, I decided to start with private due to my limited schedule. He was extremely flexible with the times that worked for me and tailored the lessons to what I wanted to learn so I could get the most out of the time I had. The classes were fun, laid back and a perfect combination of both conversation and grammar. They even provide some material to take home so you can practice what you learned that day and help to hold you accountable for putting in the extra studying time to enhance your experience.

In addition to Spanish classes, the school offers a free language exchange on Tuesday and Thursday nights which was a fun way to meet people and improve on your conversational Spanish. It doesn't stop there though, they were also a great resource for learning more about Medellin/Colombia and went out of their way to provide recommendations for activities to do around the city, set up opportunities for group trips, and lunch outings.
